Srinagar, May 16:
Terrorists have tried to infiltrate in Tangdhar area of Kupwara. According to sources, four to five terrorists are said to be surrounded in the forward area of the Line of Control. Security forces have killed two infiltrating terrorists. The operation is going on now.
Voting for Baramulla Lok Sabha seat is on May 20. Meanwhile, tight security arrangements have been made. Police, CRPF, Army and other security agencies are maintaining vigilance.
In a high level meeting called to review the security situation in Jammu, GOC of 16 Corps, Lieutenant General Naveen Sachdeva said that terrorists involved in Rajouri, Poonch and Basantgarh will be eliminated. The terrorists involved will be eliminated. For this, security agencies are working as per strategy.
In the meeting, senior army and police officials deliberated deeply on the increasing terrorist incidents in Rajouri-Poonch. Apart from Rajouri-Poonch, the terrorist attack in Basantgarh of Udhampur was also discussed. Particularly, discussions were held regarding the attack on the Air Force convoy in Poonch and the murder of a government employee in Thannamandi. Along with ADGP Jammu Anand Jain, senior officials of intelligence agencies also participated in the meeting.
