Jammu, July 22:
The strategically important fighter airbase being built in Nyoma, Ladakh will be completed in October this year. This will enhance national security and connectivity on the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
The military infrastructure will be strengthened and the strength of the Air Force will increase.
This airbase located near the China border will give India an edge over the LAC. With the completion of the construction of the 2.7 km long runway, the Air Force will be able to keep an eye on China as well as Pakistan.
This airbase will facilitate air operations and logistics in the sub-region north of eastern Ladakh. With bombproof hangars and advanced facilities, fighter aircraft like Rafale and Sukhoi-30 will be able to take off easily.
The Air Force has already used Nyoma’s Advanced Landing Ground for C-130J, AN-32. Apache helicopters during the 2020 Galwan conflict. The project led by Colonel Ponung Doming will make Nyoma a major command-and-control center. This will help drones and attack helicopters.
