The Jammu and Kashmir Police is making several efforts to ensure the safety of tourists and pilgrims during this year’s Amarnath Yatra. It is so that the pilgrims coming on the yatra do not face any kind of problem.
Due to this, the police of Anantnag district has launched the ‘Pehchan App’. It is a QR-based mobile app designed to register and regulate service providers working on travel routes and major tourist destinations.
According to the information, the police said in a statement that this app helps in on-the-spot verification of service providers.
It creates a secure system by separating registered and verified people from unregistered people. The main purpose of launching this app is to strengthen the security system during the journey.
By creating a digital record of all authorised people, the app brings in more transparency and accountability in the services provided to pilgrims and tourists, the police said. It will also help in managing the crowd easily, as the service will be provided in a systematic and regulated manner and reduce the problem of disputes, overcharging and congestion on the travel routes.
This initiative will instill confidence in the passengers and tourists as they will come in contact with only verified people. The app empowers genuine service providers by providing them with digital identity and formal recognition.
