Illegal activities were going on in Jammu’s SMGS hospital, the Drug Control Department took major action; sealed the Jan Aushadhi Center

Jammu, June 29:

The Drug and Food Control Organization has sealed the Jan Aushadhi Center at SMGS Hospital for allegedly selling other medicines.

However, orders have been given to investigate the matter.

This matter came to light when the relatives of some patients alleged that they were told in the ward to buy medicines from Jan Aushadhi Kendra, but when they went there to get the medicines, the medicines given to them were very expensive. The Jan Aushadhi Kendra seal was not even put on them. There was no logo of the centre.

The price of Jan Aushadhi medicine was Rs 250 but the medicine given to them cost Rs 500. Some other attendants made similar allegations. This was also complained to the hospital management. The hospital’s medical superintendent Dr. Dara Singh took cognizance of this and wrote to the Drug and Food Control Organization for action.
