Panchari, October 18:
Department of Horticulture Zone Panchari Organised Farmers Awareness Camp under the able guidance of Rajinder Kumar Lochan Chief Horticulture Officer Udhampur and Ravinder Kumar,Horticulture Dev. Officer Panchari today at Panchayat Dandota to encourage the local farmers to avail departmental schemes to develop orchards.
In a statement issued to mercury times, Sanjeev Singh, Horiculture Technician Extension Panchari elaborated in detail about the incentives available under the various centrally and state sponsored schemes of the department and urged them to come forward, associate with the horticulture department to adopt Modified High Density Apple plantation and High density plantation under CAPEX and MIDH Plantation. He also explained in detail the incentives available on creation of water resources, water harvesting tanks, Motor Pumps, HDPE Pipes, power tillers, tractors, vermicompost units, PGH, on farm handling units, Walnut hullar machine and other components as well which will raise the economic status of the farming community.
He said during the camp that Horticulture Department will start skill development programme in the Panchari Zone with an objective to train the local unemployed youth in various propagation techniques like budding, grafting and canopy management techniques like pruning/training of fruit trees, so, that they can act as master trainers and can train other local youth in the same.
Panchari is having a great potential of horticulture which must be tapped and in this regard he appealed the PRI’s and farmers of the Panchayat to work in tandem besides asked to play a proactive role to bring tangible result on the ground and to re-double the farmers income & department is providing every possible assistance to farmers and they should take benefits of all the centrally and UT sponsored schemes “Sarpanch Shamsher Singh said during the camp.”
The camp was attended by Koushalya Devi, Hort. Tech.,PRI’S Farmers/Orchardists of Dandota panchayat of Zone Panchari.
