High-profile robbery at Anand Jewelers shop solved, police arrested 3 accused including a lawyer

Jammu, April 4:
Jammu Police has solved the case of high-profile robbery at Anand Jewelers shop in Greater Kailash area and arrested three people including a lawyer. This robbery was planned by a lawyer along with his two companions.
On February 1, two bike-borne youths had looted about 1.5 kg of gold jewellery. It is worth about Rs 1.50 crore, from a jewellery showroom in broad daylight. CCTV footage showed the two youths, wearing black-tinted helmets, threatening a woman with a knife and fleeing after the robbery.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by SSP Jammu Joginder Singh revealed that the lawyer, a resident of Bishnah and a member of a political party, had planned the crime.
His acquaintance with the gold merchant helped him gather crucial information about the shop’s security and layout. The police arrested the three accused. Police also recovered some of the looted jewellery as well as the motorcycle used in the crime. Efforts are on to recover further items.
Jammu Police has urged people to be vigilant. And report such activities to the nearest police station or dial 100. Police said also install CCTV cameras around their establishments. The quick and precise action in this case has sent a message that crime will not be tolerated and the culprits will be brought to justice.
