Jammu, June 12:
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday chaired a high-level meeting. The meeting is to review the security and operational preparedness for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra.
The Amarnath Yatra is going to start from July 3.
The meeting was attended by NSA Ajit Doval, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and others.
According to officials, modern surveillance technology, intelligence and coordination between various agencies have been strengthened.
As part of the security arrangements, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has deployed state-of-the-art checking and anti-sabotage equipment.
The police have also launched a QR code-based ‘Pechan App’ for verification of workers and vendors working on the yatra route. Through this app, digital verification of employees and merchants will be done. It will help in increasing security and accountability.
