Heat wave to last six days, Jammu administration appeals, do not leave the house without work

Jammu, May 23:

Jammu division is in the grip of heat wave these days. The morning started with dry weather in Jammu city on Thursday. People are also feeling the humidity. Everyone started taking measures to protect themselves from the heat in the morning. People made necessary arrangements to come out of their homes. The administration has also advised people not to leave their homes without essential work.

Meteorologists said on Thursday that the heat wave in the plains of Jammu and Kashmir is likely to continue for the next six days. The hilly districts are also likely to experience hot and dry weather during the next six days. Generally dry weather is expected from May 23 to 28. Thunderstorms may occur at some isolated places. From May 29 to 31, the weather will be partly cloudy with light rain at isolated places.

They said, ‘Overall, there is very little expectation of any significant weather activity till May 31. Heat is likely to continue in the plains of Jammu division as well as Kashmir division during the next six days.

The administration and the Meteorological Department have advised people not to drive in the scorching heat without essential work to avoid exposure to heat. Also, special care of patients, elderly, infants and children has been advised. Also requested to drink home-made cold liquids and plenty of water.
