Kathua, August 13:
Police has arrested nine people including the mastermind who was helping the terrorists active from Kathua to Doda. Mohammad Latif alias Haji Latif, a resident of Ambe Naal in Kathua, is the main mastermind & running the network of terrorists. Those arrested include Haji Latif’s son Liaqat, brother Noorani resident of Juthana and others. All of them are residents of Kathua.
Latif has been helping terrorists along with plotting against the country in connivance with Pakistan. This was revealed during the encounter with terrorists on 11-12 June in Saida Sohal of Hiranagar. According to sources, Latif used to work as a guide for the infiltrating terrorists.
Haji was in direct contact with terrorist handlers sitting in Pakistan. Haji Latif had also sheltered the three terrorists killed in Gandoh of Doda. Latif has so far taken more than 20 terrorists to safe hideouts after infiltration.
Police said that Latif has information about the upper reaches of the mountains and forests of Udhampur-Kathua-Doda districts. He used to work as a guide for groups of terrorists passing through the area. He collected goods for the terrorists by giving Rs 500 to some and Rs 1000 to others.
