Stating that there is shortage of sanitary staff in the field, Bhalla said that there is need to engage more safaikaramcharis if we wish to see Clean and Green Jammu. He strongly criticized the state government for its failure to address the issues of workers and employees of different departments, who are agitating on the roads for their genuine demands.
As per press statement issued to mercury times, Bhalla said that the casual workers, daily wagers, daily rated, consolidated employees, contractual and need based workers and employees of several departments highlighted their demands trough protests seeking fulfillment of the commitments and promises by BJP Govt to them while in opposition and after assuming power but they are neglected by the Govt. instead of resolving their issues. It is very unfortunate situation and even the regular employees are not getting their salaries and dues etc. on regular basis forcing them to come on streets. The unrest amongst the working class is a cause of great concern and the Govt should immediately fulfill the promises and sort out their genuine issues without delay. He said BJP Government has totally lost its credibility due to its mis-governance, which led to the failure of government on all the fronts. He said problems like lack of basic amenities, unemployment and inflation in J&K forced the common man to live in miserable conditions. He observed that this regime has antagonized all sections of people whether it is the youth, government employees, women or even children, this government has hurt every section of the society.
Bhalla regretted that people of the Jammu region are back stabbed by BJP leadership as the Party has brazenly abandoned its core agenda and has adopted indifferent approach towards problems of the masses. He said that there is strong resentment among people of Jammu region towards BJP, which miserably failed to address even basic issues of people.Bhalla deliberated upon various problems being faced by public in absence of an elected Government. “The onus is on BJP, which got huge mandate in last Assembly and Lok Sabha elections as well as current Lok Sabha election besides being the ruling party at the Centre and J&K, being under direct control of Central Government,” he added.“BJP was in power at Centre and in erstwhile J&K State. It was easy for the party to forward issues of common masses through their government in J&K for mitigating their sufferings but they took them casually,” said Bhalla, adding that there was total chaos and confusion among people as BJP leadership failed to remove peoples’ apprehensions. “On one hand, there is complete uncertainty in J&K, while on other hand people are facing failure of administration to resolve people’s issues,” he said, adding that most parts of the city are facing scarcity of potable water and power while lanes and drains are in dilapidated condition.
Bhalla hailed party workers for their dedicated efforts in reaching up to the common people during the coronavirus lockdown and prompted them to further their efforts in the particularly post-COVID period when the whole socio-economic structure of the common masses was set to overhaul itself.
Meanwhile he asked Administration to formulate an effective strategy to take the centre government schemes.“The BJP has nothing to offer to the people and therefore it has been shying away from focussing on the core issues”, Bhalla said .Bhalla reminded the BJP of the massive 2014 Jammu mandate for development and welfare and said that instead of doing a little bit in this regard they pushed the entire region to the wall. The developmental machinery came to a grinding halt and the utility services suffered major jolt due to the self-centred approach of the BJP leaders. The hope of inclusive development and political reconciliation were taken over by despair, as the self styled champions of the Jammu cause failed to satiate the urges and aspirations of people. BJP has not understood the idea of Jammu and Kashmir”, Bhalla said while decrying the dubious tactics being employed to hoodwink public opinion. He referred to the bogies being created by the BJP and said this has neither worked in the past nor will create any magic for BJP in future.
Bhalla as per mercury times said DDC polls has sent a terse message to the BJP for pursuing the politics of deceit and hate that has caused enormous damage to the secular fabric of this land of Sufis and Saints. He castigated BJP for indulging in rhetoric and playing unethical politics by scheming against the overall interests of people. “It has never pursued politics based on principles but inflicted scars on public sensitivity by raking up frivolous and emotive issues to polarize the situation”, he said.He claimed the alienation among people has grown because of the “ill-advised and provocative policies” pursued by BJP.
“Honesty and political morality demanded the BJP to admit its failures and apologise to the people who have undergone a nightmarish era in the past seven years. He advised the BJP against playing the “victim card”. “Irony is not that the BJP is publicly admitting failure in deliverance, development and fulfilling aspirations of Jammu but brazenly offering excuses to hide the betrayal to those who vehemently mandated it with 25 seats in legislative assembly during 2014 elections,” Bhalla said. They failed on all fronts in deliverance during the past seven years. The development and employment generation received a huge dent,” he said.Referring to local issues, Bhalla called for expeditious and time-bound completion of various development projects and implementation of various welfare schemes.
Bhalla said people want development, employment opportunities, better infrastructure and other basic requirements like adequate water and power supply. Bhalla alleged that the BJP is befooling the people of this city with dreams of making Jammu a Smart City, for the past two years, there has been no discussions and deliberations with the elected corporators on the status and work done towards making Jammu a Smart City. Bhalla said BJP is a dream seller party which makes lot of promises during elections. But after getting power, they act as mute spectator to their sufferings. BJP made tall claims of creating job and employment for the youths, however, the unemployment rate is increasing in the country”.
He blamed BJP for the falling growth rate of the country. He alleged that the Centre was not taking any “effective steps” to improve the economic situation of the country. Taking a dig at Union Govt, Bhalla claimed that Jammu region is reeling under shortage of various basic requirements but Govt is unmoved. He said Govt lacks approach which is based on consistency, clarity, conviction and creating only mess making people to suffer unnecessarily without any fault of theirs. He observed that under BJP regime in the Centre, poor people are not able to have two square meals due to sky-rocketing prices.
Anti-youth policies of BJP at Centre and J&K have led to disappointment and alienation among youth, as the BJP government has utterly failed to fulfil genuine urges and aspirations of youth. Accusing the government of failing to solve day to day problems of the common people, Bhalla said miseries of the people have been increased manifold after formation of this regime which was formed without any programme and policy.
Bhalla slammed Union Government for its failure to address the issue of BSF, CISF aspirants who held months long protest in support to their demands.
