The Faculty, Staff & Students of GMC, Jammu bid an emotional adieu to Principal & Dean, Government Medical College Jammu on her transfer as Secretary (Technical) in the Health and Medical Education Department on Tuesday.
While recalling the unmatchable and exemplary services of Dr Shashi Sudhan, all the Speakers said that people of her caliber are limited in the department and her services will be remembered by the Institution for all times to come. She has been an inspiration to all of the us and a mentor that we always look up to. They recounted her immense contribution during the COVID-19 pandemic and in the post COVID times in the development of the College and the welfare of the faculty, Staff and Students and thanked her for the legacy that she would be leaving behind.The HoDs complimented her for being ever available and ever ready to help & provide Solutions to any problem.
In a statement issued to mercury times, Dr Shashi Sudhan expressed her gratitude to the gathering and shared that she has developed an invisible bond with the institution and everyone in it. She said that it has been an honor and a privilege to work in this premier institute which has made a positive impact on the lives of People and for that, I am forever grateful. She said that the success of this institution is and will always be the teamwork of the administration, Faculty and staff & Students. She recalled that it was due to teamwork only that we were able to go through the times of COVID Pandemic and work towards making the Institution as one of the best in Country. She thanked everyone who contributed in the journey of progress of the Institution.She recalled the major milestones during her tenure like establishment of DRDO Hospital,MCH Hospital G.Nagar,100 bedded Emergency Block,State Cancer Institute,Bone & Joint Hospital, BSL-3 Lab.12 Satellite testing Labs.during COVID,Renal transplant & Corneal transplant Services, recruitment, DPC of Faculty & Staff etc in the Instituion.She also visited the Deptt.of Microbiology. Overall it was an emotional scene in the Institution today.
All the HoD’s, Faculty and Staff, Students etc. were present.
