Dream of Hindus to settle in Valley not realized: Sahni

To improve present situation and to encourage the minorities in Kashmir, Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit today suggested creation of special colonies for security personnel as well as minorities at the district level in the Valley. Besides, the Party demanded that the government should give freehold plots to balance proportion of Hindu Muslim population.
In a statement issued to mercury times, while speaking to reporters at the party’s central office in Jammu, Manish Sahni, President Shiv Sena expressed deep concern over the exodus from the Valley and the continuing terrorist attacks on minorities residing in valley, accusing the government of failing to improve the situation in Kashmir and to protect the minorities.
Sahni strongly condemned the terrorist attack on migrant laborers in Anantnag of Kashmir last day and warned the terrorists to desist from their nefarious and cowardly acts. Along with this, he asked government to take strict and concrete steps to stop the selective attacks on minorities in the Valley immediately. Sahni said that all the claims of the government regarding restoration of peace in Kashmir have proved to be hollow. “Even after three years of abrogation of Article 370, the dream of settling Hindus and minorities in the valley is not being realized. In the current situation, the Hindu families settled in the valley are also being forced to migrate,” he said, adding that some special steps need to be taken to boost the morale of the minorities of the Valley.
Sahni asserted that if the government would give freehold plots to the security forces and minorities, it will help in balancing the Hindu Muslim ratio in Kashmir to some extent besides it will help in improving the present situation in the Valley.
