To observe the Birth anniversary of the Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, the Department of English Govt Degree College Chatroo organised an online extension lecture on “The Life and Works of Rabindranath Tagore: An Analysis”. The lecture was delivered by Dr Farooq Malik from Kashmir who threw light on the life and the important works of Tagore. He talked about the poetic and educational philosophy of the literary genius. The event was organized via google meet and more than 60 participants joined the lecture.
In his introductory lecture, the Chief Organiser Dr Jamsheed Ahmad introduced the speaker and assured the students that more events will be organised in future. In his presidential speech, Dr Daya Vilas Khajuria principal GDC Chatroo congratulated Dr Jamsheed Ahmad for taking the initiative and for giving the students exposure. He urged the other departments of the college to follow the track and organise various extension activities.
Dr Ashaq Hussain presented the formal vote of thanks and congratulated the Department of English on this occasion. It is pertinent to mention here such activity was organised in the college for the first time.
