Four great warriors have been awarded the Kirti Chakra. The warriors including Colonel Manpreet Singh and DSP Humayun Muzammil Bhat of Jammu and Kashmir Police, who sacrificed their lives in a terrorist encounter in Anantnag, Kashmir in September last year,
These great warriors had shown extraordinary bravery during anti-terrorist operations in Jammu and Kashmir. Out of the four Kirti Chakras, three have been awarded posthumously.
President Draupadi Murmu on Wednesday approved 103 gallantry awards to the personnel of the armed forces and police forces.
