Udhampur, May 31:
A huge fire has raged in the forests of Darsu Panchayat of Udhampur district since Tuesday.
Due to fire huge loss to the forest wealth including wildlife. The efforts of the forest department and locals to control the fire have been unsuccessful so far. The villagers have appealed to send Indian Air Force helicopters to extinguish the fire.
The fire that broke out on Tuesday in the Darsu forest area between Udhampur and Jammu districts has spread over five to six square kilometers. Now it has increased the danger to residential areas as well.
