In order to provide employment to the youth by promoting skill development in Jammu and Kashmir, the government has constituted a fifteen-member committee. This committee, headed by the Finance Commissioner of the Finance Department, will work towards providing employment to the youth in 225 sectors identified under Mission Youth.
The members of the task force include the administrative secretaries of the Department of Housing, Animal Husbandry, Tourism, Horticulture, Agriculture, Public Works, Industry, Education, Transport, Forest, Rural Development along with the Chief Executive Officer of Mission Youth, Jammu Power Development Corporation and Kashmir Power Development. The task force will decide how the youth are to be groomed keeping in mind the current needs of the industry. Along with this, work will also be done in the direction of getting them employment in the private sector. The order for the formation of this high-level task force was issued by Principal Secretary Manoj Kumar Dwivedi on Thursday.
Under Mission Youth, twenty thousand youth of the state are to be given skill development training. With their help, they will be able to get employment in the private sector. For this, a job portal is being developed on the lines of National Career Service. With this, youth will be able to apply directly for jobs in the corporate world. There is a preparation to spend 200 crores in Mission Youth. Under this mission, every effort will be made to train the youth and provide employment.
