Jammu, June 23:
Freedom Fighters Memorial Association (FFMA) held a function to pay tributes to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on his Balidan Divas (Martyrdom Day).
The function was organized by the Chairman of the Association, Ved Gandotra at Dogra Shourya Sthal, Amphalla, here.
On the occasion, floral tributes were paid to the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee with showering petals on his photograph.
Speaking on the occasion, R.C Puri (Former President of Association) highlighted the deeds of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and said, “A devout patriot and proud nationalist, Dr. Mukherjee devoted his life for India’s unity and integrity.”
As per press statement issued to mercury times, “His passion for a strong and united India continues to inspire us and gives us the strength to serve 130 crore Indians,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman of the Association, Rajiv Mahajan said for Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the nation was always first. He sacrificed power and worked towards the unity and integrity of the country.
He added that Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee founded the Jan Sangh.
“If today we can enter Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) without a permit and if Bengal is an integral part of India, this is all because of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee,” he said.
Others present on the occasion include S.S Balwal (President), Karnail Chand (General Secretary), Prof. R.P Sharma, S.S Bilworia (Vice Presidents), Parbhat Kaphi (Office Secretary) and others.
