Srinagar, November 2:
National Conference president Farooq Abdullah has strongly condemned the terror attack on labourers in Budgam. He demanded an independent probe into the incident. He said such attacks are a matter of concern and questioned how such incidents are happening under the present government.
Abdullah said, “This should be investigated. How has the government been formed here and this is happening? I doubt if this is being done by those people who are trying to destabilize this government? Why was this not happening before? All these people are trying to create a crisis.” He said that such incidents challenge the security and peace in Jammu and Kashmir and the government should pay serious attention to this.
Farooq Abdullah urged the state government to join hands with the security forces and take strict action against those elements who are promoting terrorism. He also said that the government will have to take concrete steps to regain the trust of the people. The incident has raised questions over the security situation in the state, and political leaders have reacted sharply to it. Abdullah’s comments come at a time when concerns are growing about security in Jammu and Kashmir.
