Jammu, October 31:
The fair, which is scheduled to be held at Jhiri Devasthan on the border with Pakistan from November 4. It will be held under a three-tier security cordon. Police, Army, SDRF and paramilitary forces are being deployed.
The fair site will be monitored by drones. Sniffer dogs will also be engaged. This is the first time that this fair is being held near the Pakistan border after Operation Sindoor. In such a situation, special vigilance is being taken for security.
From November 3, the process of arriving people from Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal will begin. A detailed security plan has been prepared to conduct the fair in a safe environment. BSF will be deployed at the border, police and paramilitary forces will be deployed at the Mela site. Special checkpoints are being set up on the link road connecting Jhiri. Vehicles coming from other states will be diverted from the Ring Road towards Jhiri.
SSP Jammu Joginder Singh said that security arrangements are being strengthened by visiting the Mela site.
