Even after a week of the encounter, there is no trace of terrorists hiding in Basantgarh

Jammu, July 5:

The search for the terrorists hiding in Basantgarh of Udhampur after the encounter with security forces a week ago is still on. It is expected that the terrorists have not gone out of the district. The entire area is covered with dense forests and natural caves. This also poses a challenge in conducting operations against the terrorists. So far, no helper working for these terrorists has been caught.

Former DGP SP Vaid says that whenever terrorists are surrounded, efforts should be made to end the operation during the day and they should be surrounded accordingly.

There the terrorists used to hide in the plains, after the siege they could not escape. At night we used to maintain the siege with full light. But, there are dense forests in areas like Kathua, Udhampur, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu division.

So whenever information is received about the presence of these terrorists. Then launch the operation during the day. Create such a security cordon so that they cannot escape and are killed before nightfall.
