Srinagar, January 20:
Three Hizbul militants were killed in an encounter between security forces and militants in Wachi area of Shopian in southern Kashmir. This is the third encounter of this year. Today, on Monday morning, the security forces received information that terrorists were hiding in the Wachi area. Soon, security forces began to cordon the area. During this, the terrorists found themselves surrounded and started firing on the security forces.
The security forces also talked about surrendering to the terrorists, but the terrorists kept firing continuously, ignoring this appeal of the security forces. In retaliation, the security forces have piled up three terrorists.
One of the slain terrorists is Adil Sheikh. It was a resident of Shopian. He had also served as the SPO in the Jammu and Kashmir Police. From where he fled to join the terrorist organization Hizbul. It robbed 8 arms from the house of the then PDP MLA Ajaz Mir from Jawahar Nagar Srinagar on 29 September 2018. The second terrorist was Wasim Wani. This too was a resident of Shopian. The third terrorist has been identified as Jahangir Malik. He was a resident of Aachen in Pulwama district.
Army killed three terrorists in Tral on 12 January
Earlier on January 12, the army had killed three militants during an encounter at Tral in Pulwama. Among the slain terrorists was Hizbul Mujahideen commander Hamad Khan. Hamad’s death was a great success for the security forces.
After the killing of terrorist Sabzar Ahmed Bhatt, Hizbul Mujahideen gave the responsibility of terrorist Hamad Khan to spread terrorism in Kashmir. He was also made the new commander. The terrorist was a resident of Hamad Tral. The terrorist had worked with former Hizbul commander Burhan Wani to spread terror in the valley.
