The Jammu Police is tightening the noose on the big syndicate of notorious drug and cattle smuggler Lahu Gujjar. Following Gujjar’s arrest, the Special Operations Group (SOG) on Saturday detained Farooq Ali. A close relative of Gujjar. This action has been taken after the interrogation of Gujjar.
According to the information, on Saturday, a special team of SOG raided the Kala Pul area of Pandoria area of Bishnah on the basis of solid intelligence. During this covert operation, the team caught Farooq Ali. Police sources say that Farooq is not just a relative, but he is also the main operator of the entire drug and cattle smuggling business of Lahu Gujjar.
He was also responsible for running the network smoothly when Lahu went underground.
The SOG will now take him into custody and interrogate him strictly, which is expected to reveal many secrets. The police are constantly raiding the whereabouts of Lahu Gujjar. Lahu Gujjar is already in police custody and is currently on a seven-day police remand. He is being interrogated intensively by agencies at the Miran Sahib police station. Investigations have revealed that Lahu Gujjar’s links are directly linked to drug smugglers sitting in Pakistan.
Now the SOG team is strictly interrogating Farooq Ali. According to sources, the police can cross-interrogate Lahu Gujjar and Farooq Ali in the coming days. The main objective of this action is to break the chain of supply of drugs from across the border and identify their facilitators at the local level and put them behind bars.
