Jammu, August 13:
GRP Jammu has arrested a drug smuggler wanted in Bihar. The accused has been identified as Sunil Kumar son of Shrikant Singh resident of Masudhanpur Baisi, Bhawanipur, Rangra Chowk, District Bhagalpur, Bihar. A case was registered against the accused in Police Station Jokihat, Bihar under section 20/22 of NDPS Act in the year 2019 (FIR No. 105/2019).
The accused had absconded from the court.
The Additional Sessions Judge, Araria, Bihar issued his arrest warrant on 21 July 2022.
SHO GRP Jammu Niaz Ahmed said that the accused Sunil Kumar was arrested a few days ago with banned drugs.
During questioning, Sunil Kumar told that he was caught smuggling drugs in Bihar.
After his disclosure, Jammu Railway Police contacted Bihar Police.
Sunil Kumar was sent to Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu. Bihar Police confirmed that the accused is absconding in an old NDPS case. Now Bihar Police will soon reach Jammu and take the accused into its custody.
