Srinagar, March 10:
Daily wage employees of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department on Sunday protested against the government at Lal Chowk in Srinagar. During protest, they were demanding regularization and salary hike.
The employees said that they have been working temporarily for a long time, but their rights are being ignored. The protesting workers said that their salary is minimal. And there is no provision for permanent jobs for them, due to which they are facing financial difficulties.
The employees appealed to the government to regularize their jobs and increase their salaries. Many employees in the protest said that they have been working for a long time, but still they have not got the hope of a permanent job and proper salary. The protesters warned that if their demands are not heard soon, they will not stop their protest. Government officials said that the issue is being considered and appropriate steps will be taken soon.
