Jammu, March 20:
Doda MLA Maharaj Malik accused the BJP of promoting liquor and raised a controversy by calling the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir a mafia. His statement infuriated the BJP members and there was a heated exchange in the House.
BJP member in the assembly Balwant Singh Mankotia reacted sharply to Maharaj Malik’s statement and said that the MLA has commented against Hindu religion and he should apologize immediately. During this, Mankotia also threw the mic in the house, which created a stir in the house.
Both the ruling and opposition parties appeared united on the issue of pending electricity bills. During this, both the parties demanded an amnesty to resolve this issue.
Another controversy arose in the assembly. The issue of spending crores of rupees on guests coming from outside to Jammu and Kashmir after 2019 started gaining momentum. The opposition raised questions about this expenditure and demanded the formation of a House Committee.
BJP members, reacting to the issue, said that the government is in power, and if the opposition has any complaint then they should talk to the Chief Minister.
