DGPC Jammu Lambast those self styled Leaders who are bent upon to defame Elected Body

Jammu, September 24:

S Ranjeet Singh Tohra while addressing the media persons briefed the media persons about the achievement and working of the New DGPC after assuming the services of the management of Gurudwaras of Jammu District under the control  of committee.

The main achievements  of DGPC Jammu during the short span of three months, highlighted by Vice President S Balvinder Singh & S Surjit Singh, are Increments made in the salary of DGPC Employees of Gurudwaras including Ragi’s, Granthi’s & Sewadars. Formation of Committee under the president ship of S Tejinder Singh DGPC member from Simble Camp, for implementation and follow up of Punjabi Language in Educational Institutions and recently we held number of meetings with Jammu University and different colleges of Jammu on the said issue and got success in getting 40 seats for Punjabi language in every college.

DGPC Jammu has met the appropriate authorities of JKUT for finding solutions of the long pending demands of Sikhs. The issues pertaining to Sikh community have been taken up by various organization since last about ten years and in  one of the meeting of Sikh Progressive Front lost year with LG Manoj Sinha it was assured by the LG for considering of at least four demands which  includes Inclusion of Punjabi Language in the JKUT Official Language Bill 2020, installation of the statue of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur at Kunjwani Chowk, Implementation of National Minority Commission act and Implementation of Anand Marriage Act in JKUT. These issues are already in consideration of LG Sahib for implementation. DGPC Jammu along with DGPC Reasi also took up the matter for removal  of illegal possession over  Building at Ram Gali  Reasi, since 1984  with Deputy Commissioner Reasi  and She assured us that it will be done at the earliest.

It has now been observed that some elements of  our Sikh society are creating the impression of being the only representatives of the Sikh Community in JKUT. There has been no role of such persons in the past by being sincere towards the problems of the Sikh community.

By ignoring the mandate given by sangat to the elected members of the DGPC’s some persons are bent upon to devalue  the position and constitutional validity of the elected bodies.

The Sikh community is requested to beware of such people  and support the elected bodies to fight for the rights and privilege of the community as well as solution of long pending demands which are around ten in numbers and has been taken up at different platforms time and again.

DGPC members made an appeal to the Hon’ble LG to have direct Interaction with the elected members and take them into confidence for any amicable solution and not to endorse any individual or group who are not representatives by any electoral mandate.

Other members who were present in the Press Conference included S Ranvir Singh Jt Secretary,   S Jagpal Singh Cashier DGPC &  S Harjit Singh, S Gurmeet Singh, S Balvinder Singh, S Avtar Singh all members DGPC.
