District Administration Rajouri today organised a series of events in connection with the ‘Good Governance Week’ campaign organized under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to facilitate prompt and efficient public grievances disposal and improved services delivery to people.
District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal participated in mega awareness cum grievance redressal camp at Kalakote.
Among the others, DDC Member Kalakote, Anita Thakur; DDC Member Mougla, Shamim Akhter; BDC Chairperson Kalakote, Babu Khan; BDC Chairperson Mougla, Surekha Kotewal; President MC Kalakote, Vijay Suri besides PRIs and people in large numbers from all sections of the society attended the program.
Officers who were present during the event include ADDC, Pawan Kumar; ADC Kalakote, Krishan Lal; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; GM DIC, Manzoor Hussain; DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir; CEO RDA, Vivek Puri; CAO, Dr Fazal Hussain; CMO, Dr Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; DYSSO, Sunil; DSWO, Wakeel Bhatt; ARTO, Shami Kumar besides other District and Sectoral officers were also present on the occasion.
The District Development Commissioner took a round and inspected the stalls set up by the departments for disseminating information about various welfare and other schemes launched by the Government.
The public and their representatives apprised the DDC about a number of issues and demands of their areas including macadamization of roads, upgradation of schools, better health care services, paucity of staff in Government institutions, besides other related issues.
Specific issues included construction of ADC office building, repair of old hand pumps, delay in the execution of B2V works, revival of coal mines, exaggerated electricity bills, delayed MGNREGA and PMAY payments, replacement of the old worn out water pipes, inclusion of left out beneficiaries under PMAY etc.
Other issues include construction of road from Kalakote to Dali, blacktopping of roads, shortage of staff at PHC Mougla, construction of road from Devlian to Bavlian, sanctioning of a health and wellness center at Ranthal etc.
Some other issues included shortage of staff in veterinary center at Ranthal, dilapidated condition of road from Terayath to Salothi, construction of road from Dali to Ranthal, implementation of Awas Plus, Progress on GDC Kalakote to be expedited etc.
The DDC gave a patient hearing and asked the concerned officers to take effective measures to ensure early and quality redressal of all the genuine public concerns in a time bound manner.
Addressing the gathering, the DDC said that the District Administration is committed to provide all the basic facilities at doorsteps of the general public and all possible efforts are being made to mitigate their sufferings.
Underlining the objective of the “Good Governance Week”, he said that the sole objective of the campaign is to promote prompt service delivery and grievance redress at people’s doorstep.
Highlighting various beneficiaries and job oriented schemes, he directed the officers to provide hand holding to people for availing the benefit of the same in a hassle free manner.
Calling for close synergy between the officers and PRIs, the DDC said that close coordination between the administrative unit and Panchayat Raj Institutions is a must to achieve desired results under Government schemes and timely completion of projects.
He also directed the officers to put in extra efforts to ensure that all the genuine concerns of the public are redressed during the week besides providing maximum Government services to them at their doorsteps.
Laying special emphasis on proactive measures to resolve people’s grievances through accountable and responsive governance, the DDC asked the officers to serve people with dedication and address their concerns within a reasonable time-frame.
While replying to the issue of delayed payments under PMAY and MGNREGA raised by the public, the DDC directed the ACD to ensure timely payments to the beneficiaries under PMAY and MGNREGA.
He also asked for ensuring that all the benefits of central and UT schemes are delivered with total transparency besides ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left out from availing the benefits of the welfare initiatives.
DDC also appealed to the public to ensure their maximum participation in the camps being organized in their areas as a part of the Good Governance Week and avail necessary benefits under various schemes and programs meant for their welfare.
He also appealed to the public to adhere to COVID appropriate behavior in letter and spirit to avert the imminent threat of omicron can be averted.
DDC also distributed domicile certificates and category certificates among the beneficiaries.
