Pulwama, October 8:
In order to make the general public aware about Cyber Crime, Pulwama Police organized cyber Awareness cum Cyber Jagroota Programme at various schools and Police establishments of the District . The programme were hosted by various senior Police/Civil officers including DySP. Hqrs Pulwama, SDPO Litter, SHO P/S Kakapora, SHO P/S Rajpora. The programmes were attended by respectable citizens of concerned areas, youths, teachers and students of various schools.
The main motive behind conducting such programmes is to provide awareness of cyber frauds among the general Public particularly students. The officers briefed the participants about various types of cyber threats/ activities viz Identity theft, credit card fraud, data stealing, cyber stalking, humiliation of girls, phishing etc. Chairing officers also advised the participants especially students to be aware while surfing internet and not to fall prey to cyber criminals. He also appealed them to spread the awareness amongst others as well as regarding the risks associated with digital transactions and social media applications in use.
At the end participants appreciated the efforts of Pulwama Police for organising s “Cyber Awareness Programmes” and making the general public aware about the cyber crimes. The event concluded with the vote of thanks.
