Budgam, May 19:
Officials said that the Economic Offensive Wing (EOW) Kashmir searched houses in Budgam on Tuesday. This has happened in a land fraud case of Rs 93 lakh.
In this case, the migrant land and standing trees were allegedly sold through fake agreements.
A spokesperson of Crime Branch Kashmir said that the EOW Kashmir of Crime Branch Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) searched the houses in the Semsan area of Budgam.
The case is allegedly related to a land fraud of Rs 93 lakh, he said.
The accused are Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Dar, Jawalpora, Budgam and Som Nath Kaul, Bangalore North, Karnataka/Janipur, Jammu.
The spokesperson said that the investigation revealed that the complainant was allegedly instigated to buy five kanals of migrant land in Drusu, Pulwama.
Somnath Kaul reportedly acted as the attorney holder of the original owners, while Ghulam Mohiuddin Dar acted as a witness.
The spokesperson said that the general public is advised to be cautious of financial fraudsters. The report any such incident directly to SSP EOW Srinagar (Crime Branch J&K), Abdul Waheed Shah. Victims of financial fraud can also complain through the official email: sspeow-kmr@jkpolice.gov.in.
