Today Corporator JMC, Sh. Pritam Singh took review of the damaged caused due to heavy rainfall in ward no. 55.
Due to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, the nallah in ward no. 55, got overflowed and massive rain water accumulated in the areas of Deep Nagar, Shankar Colony, Shanti Nagar, new Shanti Nagar, Deeli, Sainik Colony Sec-B, due to which huge damage was caused to the property in ward no. 55.
In a statement issued to mercury times, Corporator Pritam Singh visited the various areas of ward no. 55 and conducted inspection. During the inspection, he took review of the damage caused due to the rainfall and accumulated water.
After the inspection, Hon’ble Corporator Pritam Singh said that UEED department recently constructed this Nallah using an amount of 1.25 Crores but still it was not constructed as per the quality standards, the bed of the nallah was not laid properly neither the walls of the nallah were raised to a safe height.
He further said that he is unable to understand where the concerned department has used such a huge amount of money if the quality of nallah is such.
Hon’ble Corporator ward 55 further added that due to the low quality work of the nallah, today rain water has caused havoc in ward no. 55 by entering the houses of the residents and caused nuisance.
He further said that the moto of the government is”Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas” but instead of Vikas they have created havoc by getting low quality of work done.
At the end, Corporator Pritam Singh addressing the local residents said that he is always there for them. If they face any problem or need him, he is just a call away and is always ready to support them. He further appealed the general public, not to wander out of there houses unnecessarily as COVID-19 cases are still on the rise and only to go out when it’s important and while wearing masks and practicing social distancing.
Onkar Singh Jamwal, Neeraj Kumar, Ashu Mehra, Onkar Singh, Kashyap, Vijay, Vicky and many other prominent citizens of ward 55 were also present.
