Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said that the attack on the special status of the state did not start in 2019 but in 2015 when the PDP formed the government with the BJP.
Addressing an election rally at Mirgund in Budgam assembly constituency, Omar Abdullah said, “The BJP has caused the most damage to Jammu and Kashmir.
Our identity is under threat, special status has been revoked and the map of the state has also changed.
He alleged that the PDP helped in furthering the BJP’s plans, while in the 2014 elections. Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and his daughter had promised to keep the BJP away from the public. People trusted him, but after the election, he joined hands with the BJP.
Omar appealed to voters to support NC candidate Agha Syed Mahmood. He said, “If you elect him, Budgam will have two MLAs — me and Agha Mahmood.” “It’s a ‘buy one, get one free’ kind of offer,” he joked.
