Jammu, August 16:
Many people were trapped under debris due to cloudburst in Chasoti village of Kishtwar at 12.30 pm on August 14. One person from Flora village of Marh assembly constituency has died in this accident. While his wife and daughter are reported to be missing.
The body of Flora resident Shamlal (52), son of late Gyanchand, was recovered on Thursday. But his wife (42) Sushma Devi and daughter (24) Isha Bajotra have not been traced. It is being said that the mother and daughter were either swept away or died.
Shamlal along with his daughter and wife and relatives left for Machail on Monday. When the cloud burst, Shamlal, his wife and daughter were returning home from Chashoti. His relatives had gone ahead.
Meanwhile, Shamlal and 5-6 relatives were about to leave Chashoti when a cloudburst wreaked havoc in the village. His body was found in the rubble.
The family members are still in shock whether this incident really happened. The body of the deceased Shamlal was brought home on Friday night. Where people reached to have the last darshan. Shamlal’s last rites were performed on Saturday. Shamlal’s main fire was lit by his son Ayush. Now Ayush is waiting to meet his mother Sushma Devi and sister Isha.
