Srinagar, February 19:
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday carried out searches at seven locations in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with a disproportionate assets case against Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, Secretary, Department of Labour and Employment in Jammu and Kashmir. Officials said Ranjan had amassed assets for which he could not give satisfactory explanation.
The CBI has registered a case against Ranjan after analysing his assets during the investigation into gun license cases. According to sources, raids were also conducted at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar, where his office is located.
