Jammu, April 6:
Border Security Force (BSF) killed a Pakistani intruder in RS Pura sector. An infiltration attempt was made in Abdullian area. After this incident, BSF lodged a strong protest with Pakistan Rangers. BSF also held a flag meeting to hand over the body of the intruder to Pakistan. But Pakistani Rangers refused to take the body.
BSF spokesperson said that an infiltration attempt was made in Abdullian on the intervening night of 4 and 5 April. Alert BSF jawans noticed suspicious movement. The intruder was seen crossing the international border. The jawans challenged the intruder and asked him to go back. But he did not pay any heed and kept moving forward.
Sensing the danger, the soldiers opened fire and killed the intruder. The intruder could not be identified because nothing was recovered from him. Nor could the reason for his intrusion be known.
After conducting the post-mortem, the BSF lodged a strong protest with the Pakistani Rangers. During a small flag meeting in Abdullian area at 1.10 pm, the Pakistani side refused to take the body of the intruder.
Sources said that during the flag meeting, Pakistan flatly refused to take the body of the intruder. They said that this citizen is not from their country. However, Pakistani Rangers do this every time. The age of the killed intruder is about 35 years. Apart from 220 rupees of Pakistani currency, no objectionable material has been found from him so far.
