Jammu, May 1:
A major accident took place during the construction work of an old bridge in Thathar area of Domana in Jammu on Friday.
A part of the bridge under construction suddenly collapsed. At the time of the incident, many laborers were working there. Out of which 5 to 7 workers are feared to be buried under the debris.
As soon as the accident was reported. The police, administration and rescue teams reached the spot. They immediately started the rescue operation. The army has also taken the lead. NDRF and SDRF teams have also been engaged in relief work.
The debris is being removed with the help of JCB and other heavy machines. According to the information, one body has been recovered so far and two laborers have been rescued safely and four are feared trapped. Ambulances are also deployed at the spot and relief work is going on on a war footing.
After the incident, there is an atmosphere of chaos in the area and a large number of people have gathered on the spot.
