Breaking: Explosion near LoC in Uri, 2 Army personnel injured

Baramulla, July 28:
Two Indian Army personnel were injured in an accidental explosion in a mine along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of Baramulla district on Tuesday, officials said.

The incident took place in the forward area of Kamalkot sector of Uri when the two soldiers were on duty.

Immediately after the blast, both the injured were safely evacuated from the spot. They were airlifted to the Army’s Badami Bagh Base Hospital in Srinagar for better treatment.

The injured have been identified as 42-year-old Dafadar Vijay Kumar and 28-year-old Naik Sharanappa Angari. Both the soldiers are posted in 8 Rashtriya Rifles (8 RR).

The exact cause of the blast is being ascertained and an investigation is underway, officials said. More information related to the event is awaited.
