Lakhanpur police while on patrolling duty stopped a car and after its checking police recovered 35 bottles of illicit liquor.
Police told mercury times reporter that Police team of P/S Lakhanpur while on patrolling duty within its premises, apprehended a vehicle (Swift Car) bearing Reg. No. JK02CF-4170 which was being driven by a person namely Uttam Singh s/o Dharam Singh R/o Kaha Khrari, Tehsil Ramkot, District Kathua, A/P House No. 81Gurha BakshiNagar, Jammu.
The whole operation was done under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua R C Kotwal-JKPS. Police told that while checking 35Bottles of MC Punjab Excise Whisky has been recovered which were puportedly kept to be sold in the adjoining area among general public at exorbitant rates to gain illegitimate profit in the amid lockdown.Thereafter, all the recovered consignment of illicit liquor were seized alongwith accused was arrested.
In this regard, a case vide FIR No 66/2021 U/S 50 Excise Act has been registered at P/S Lakhanpur and further investigation of the case is going on.
