Two senior leaders of BJP as well as Congress Party from Udhampur District today joined the Apni Party here at Gandhi Nagar.
As per the press statement, BJP’s Executive Member in State Body, Subash Sharma alongwith senior Congress Party leader, Vijay Kumar Sharma joined Apni Party here at the party’s headquarters in Jammu.
Welcoming them into the party fold, Apni Party General Secretary, Vikram Malhotra said that the party has attracted the BJP as well as Congress Party leaders from Udhampur district which has faced negligence of the district on developmental front.
“BJP’s J&K Unit imposes decisions on the people which are taken abruptly in BJP headquarter at Delhi directly without consulting the local leaders. This attitude has suffocated the local leaders and they are turning towards the Apni Party. Many other BJP leaders are in touch with the party and in coming weeks, they will also join the party.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion includes Ex-MLA Faqir Nath, Gourav Kapoor, RK Lalotra, DDC candidate from Udhampur Hans Raj Dogra and others.
“The BJP has represented the district and still, the developmental promises could not be materialized by the party’s leaders in the district which mostly has hilly areas. The Congress Party is no different. The Congress Party’s High Command in Delhi also operates its J&K unit the same way BJP does. The national opposition political party in J&K is also struggling to come out of infighting and groupism with the Congress Party,” said Malhotra.
Malhotra said that “the joining of two leaders from Udhampur shows that the local leaders are not being given heed in the leaderships of two national political parties and it was due to their negligence, they have joined Apni Party after being impressed with the party’s stand on various issues concerning both the regions.
In Jammu, he said, the people did raise their voice against growing unemployment, lack of development, and poor infrastructure etc., but the rural area’s population being poor and a neglected section of society in Udhampur district always remained away from the eyes of the Govt.
It was the responsibility of the local administration as well as the ruling leaders of BJP to represent the people without bias but they have failed to do so, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Apni Party senior leader and Ex-MLA Chenani Faqir Nath hailed the decision of the two senior leaders of BJP and Congress Party for joining Apni Party for its developmental ideology.
“Apni Party has stood for the unity and integrity of the nation as well as of J&K which has been downgraded. Our fight for the rights of the people for restoration of statehood to J&K, safeguard of jobs and land of locals will continue,” the Ex-MLA added.
Apni Party’s leader Gourav Kapoor said that the youth are in despair due to the non-availability jobs and the private sector has also sunk after the COVID_19 lockdown.
“The Govt should take some initiative for the revival of the private sector and advertisement of jobs in the government sector,” he added.
