Srinagar, August 24:
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) released its election manifesto on Saturday. It has promised to provide 200 units of free electricity to the people of the state. Restoration of the state status of Jammu and Kashmir and measures for restoring trust between India and Pakistan have also been advocated.
Along with this, promises have been made to abolish the meter system for water supply. Provide free water, give 12 gas cylinders every year to the economically weaker sections. Abolition of property tax for all houses and for women buying property as well as abolition of stamp duty.
Mehbooba Mufti released the manifesto during a function at the party headquarters along with senior leaders. It said the PDP is resolute in its effort to restore the constitutional guarantees that were unjustly abrogated and is committed to restoring Jammu and Kashmir to its original status while ensuring that the voice of its people is heard and their rights are protected.
