Baramulla, July 24:
A man was injured in a bear attack in Kamalkot area of Baramulla district on Thursday, police said.
After the incident, the local people have demanded the administration and the Wildlife Protection Department to catch the bear as soon as possible.
According to the information, Jalil Ahmed of Kamalkot, was attacked by the bear at around 12 noon. He was immediately rushed to the sub-district hospital in Uri.
Locals say the incident took place during daylight.
Local residents have appealed to the district administration to take effective steps to capture the bear at the earliest.
According to locals, this is the third incident of bear attack in the area. They allege that despite the continuous incidents, no effective action has been taken to catch the bear so far. They have demanded immediate action from the concerned department to ensure the safety of the people.
