Jammu, December 24:
In view of heavy snowfall in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, authorities on Wednesday issued an avalanche alert in five districts.
This low danger alert has been issued for Doda, Ganderbal, Kishtwar, Poonch and Ramban districts.
The avalanche is likely to occur at an altitude of 2,800 metres in these districts in the next 24 hours.
People have been appealed to avoid going to avalanche-affected areas and follow government guidelines.
