Jammu, June 28:
On Friday early morning, the first batch left for Kashmir Valley with the slogan of Bam Bhole. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the batch. A total of 4603 pilgrims left from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu in the first batch. 4603 pilgrims include 3631 men, 711 women, 252 sadhus and nine children. They were travelling in a convoy of 231 vehicles.
These pilgrims will reach Baltal and Pahalgam base camps. After that, they will start their journey towards the holy cave early on Saturday morning. This time the journey will last for 52 days. The journey is going to start from 29 June. Devotees of Baba Barfani will be able to have his darshan till 19 August.
Before flagging off the first batch of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims, LG Manoj Sinha also performed special prayers in the temple.
