Jammu, July 4:
This year a record number of pilgrims are expected to reach the Amarnath Yatra. More than 20 thousand Shiva devotees are visiting Baba Barfani in the holy cave every day. On Wednesday, more than 30,000 pilgrims visited the ice Shivling. In the five days of the Yatra, 1,05,282 pilgrims have paid their obeisance at Baba’s court. Meanwhile, the sixth batch of 5725 pilgrims left for Kashmir from the base camp Bhagwati Nagar Jammu on Wednesday.
2514 pilgrims left for Baltal from the base camp Bhagwati Nagar Jammu. This included 1830 men, 599 women, 15 children, 69 monks and one nun. Similarly, 3211 pilgrims left for Pahalgam. This group included 2651 men, 435 women, 10 children, 104 monks and 11 nuns. Pilgrims travelled in 238 small and big vehicles for both the routes.
