Jammu, May 7:
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Jammu and Kashmir took a major action on Thursday. The ACB carried out simultaneous raids at three locations of JKAS officer Zafar Iqbal in Jammu, Poonch and Srinagar.
The action has been taken in connection with serious allegations of amassing assets beyond their known sources of income.
Zafar Iqbal, who was currently working as Gandhinagar Treasury Officer and is now posted at PCCF office Srinagar.
It is alleged to have amassed huge wealth not only in his own name but also in the name of his relatives by misusing his position.
The ACB teams have raided all the three places simultaneously and seized important documents and evidence. Zafar Iqbal’s hideouts in Jammu, Poonch and Srinagar were targeted in the operation. During the searches, the ACB has recovered financial records, property related documents and other incriminating evidences which may substantiate the disproportionate assets claims.
