On Monday, Indian Army soldiers recovered an old rusted landmine near the fencing in Balakot LoC in Upazila Mendhar.
It was later destroyed by explosion with the help of the Army’s bomb disposal squad. A major accident was averted.
At around 11 in the afternoon, army soldiers were patrolling near the fencing near the Line of Control in the Balakot area of ​​the district. During this time, they found an old rusty landmine. After this, the soldiers cordoned off the area and informed the officers about it. After this, the officers called the army’s bomb squad. The bomb squad reached the spot, removed the landmine, took it to a safe place and destroyed it by exploding it safely.
