Reasi, May 29:
A sudden fire broke out in the hills of Salal Dam. It is near the 690 MW Salal Hydroelectric Project located on the banks of Chenab river in Reasi.
As soon as the fire was reported, the locals reached the spot and immediately informed the fire department and the forest department.
The teams of both the departments reached the spot and started the operation to control the fire.
After several hours of hard work. The fire brigade personnel and forest department personnel have brought the fire under control to a large extent.
Forest department officials present at the spot said that continuous efforts are on to control the fire.
Locals also cooperated in the fire extinguishing efforts and helped control the situation along with departmental teams.
