1st Roller Ball Skating Coaching Camp inaugurated by VC SKUAST-K at Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura Campus

Sopore, August 2:
1st ever 10 days Roller Ball Skating coaching camp for the students of Faculty of Agriculture was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor SKUAST-K Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai on 1st August, 2022 at faculty of agriculture Wadura campus. The camp is being organized by SKUAST-K in collaboration with Roll Ball Association of JK UT and JK Roller Skating Association Kashmir wing. Renowned international player and alumni of faculty of Agriculture Mr M. Ashraf Diggo started giving coaching to around 30 students (boys and girls) who had registered for the camp. On the occasion Mr Diggo said that he will be providing coaching free of cost as he being the alumni of the college. The camp is being held to prepare students for forth coming Nations.
Prize distribution of recently concluded Vice Chancellor’s Sports Festival 2022 was also held on the sidelines of coaching camp.
Sports Festival kick started on 30th June in which students participated in various sports activities in a picturesque sports stadium with lush green turf of Wadura campus.. The matches were witnessed by hundreds of spectators including teaching, non-teaching staff and students of the faculty.
The environment remained scintillating and quite noisy during the weeklong festival. All the teams displayed a wonderful talent and discipline.
After Prize Distribution Ceremony Vice Chancellor Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai appreciated the efforts of Dean Faculty of Agriculture Professor Raihana Habib Kanth for providing a space for the students to show cause their talent in different co curricular activities. He said that sports not only provide an opportunity to the students to interact with other students of the faculty but it also plays a vital role in all round development of student’s personality.
Vice Chancellor also appreciated Students Welfare Officer, Sports Club leaders for their determined efforts to complete the tournament in a much professional manner and made it a grand success.
Vice Chancellor promised that more such activities in the faculty and wished the students to excel in all shades of life. Prof Haroon R Naik Director P&M and Director Education Prof M A Khan Head of Divisions, faculty members Guests and huge number of Students were also present on the occasion.
Dean Students Welfare Prof. M.M Siddique who has been pivotal in organizing such events in the different faculties of the University in his message told reporters that more such events and interfaculty competitions will be organized in future.
He appreciated all those teachers and sports club volunteers who were part of organizing committee for their efforts during sports festival. It is worth to mention here that more than fourteen hundred players representing their UG, PG and PhD classes from the faculty took part in 17 different events which include: Cricket, Football, Volley ball, Badminton, Carom, Chess, Athletics, Tug of War, Recreational Sports: like Dizzy Sports Battle, Sack Race, 3 legged Race, Gully Cricket and Kashmiri Traditional Games like Hiket, Saz e Loung which were organized first time in the history of SKUAST-Kashmir.
