15-year-old boy drowns while bathing near Harki Pauri, body found 22 hours later

Jammu, June 6:
A 15-year-old boy, one of the three friends, drowned while bathing near the Harki Pauri area of the Tawi river in Jammu.

The deceased has been identified as Akash, a resident of Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh.
According to the information, Akash had gone to bath in the river with his friends on Friday afternoon, where he drowned after going into deep water. After the incident, the local administration and SDRF teams jointly started the rescue operation which lasted for about 22 hours.
At around 11:30 am on Saturday, the SDRF team recovered the body of the teenager from the river. The deceased was a student of Class VIII and his father Bablu works as a labourer. According to family members, Akash had gone to take a bath with friends without informing them. The police have registered a case.
